On Work: Off Work
I created this book to show the reality of the relationship between labor and community, and what labor accomplishes.
The acetate prints of what a worker sees on his or her off time overlay the stark, solid, black and white prints of a local factory during the night shift. This represents the fact that most laborers work to gain a very little amount of leisure on the weekends, and this leisure is always confused in the workers mind with the knowledge that he or she must soon begin the work week again.
Hopefully those who view this book will perceive those of us who labor at jobs such as this with more respect.
